History

The Rohingya American Society (RAS) formerly, the Burmese Rohingya American Friendship Association (BRAFA), is a community-based nonprofit 501© (3) organization. It was reformed and incorporated in 2014 with the State of Wisconsin as a nonprofit entity.

The objective of the Rohingya American Society (RAS) is to serve the largest resettled Rohingya and Burmese refugee families, individuals, immigrants, and those who are in need, to bring hope through education, religion, cultural empowerment, and socio-economic development programs. It is also an advocacy group for Rohingya human rights, justice, and freedom in Myanmar (Burma).

Vision

The vision of Masjid Mubarak is to create a climate of success for the believers of Masjid Mubarak and facilitate the growth and development of healthy families and communities today, and generations to come, in the areas of education, business, productive citizenship, Human rights, justice, humanitarian, health/wellness, and future careers as well. We would like to welcome the opportunity to work with anyone that shares an interest in these objectives.

Mission

The mission of Masjid Mubarak is to develop, support, and promote a comprehensive Islamic way of life as outlined in the Holy Qur’an and the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). We strive to provide charitable and humanitarian help to the entire Rohingya, Burmese, and other local minority communities, as well as to reach out and present Islam through educational programs, social services, and cultural activities, which are consistent with the teachings and principles of Islam. We contribute to strengthening the bonds between Muslims and Non-Muslims alike by establishing a united community through effective interfaith partnership, tolerance, and respect for all people.
